Paulaner Bräuhaus is in the heart of the V&A Waterfront's stylish Clocktower Precinct. It is believed to be the only microbrewery in the world under sea level and certainly the only one situated in a working harbour.
Beer
Sit in the beer garden and enjoy the three beers brewed on the premises: traditional Bavarian Weissbier, smooth Paulaner Larger or Münch'ner Dunkel, the dark beer for which Munich is renowned. Watch the world go by and the ferries to Robben Island coming in to dock at the Nelson Mandela Gateway.
Dining
The restaurant provides an extensive menu of hearty Bavarian cuisine - from Obatzda to Sudhaus Platters and Pork Knuckle with Kraut to Apple Strudel.
Functions
Paulaner is popular for business lunches and has an upstairs area perfect for functions and can accommodate up to 150 guests.
Find out more about the brewery and the range of beers it produces with a beer-tasting – which includes a three-course meal - hosted by German master brewer, Wolfgang Ködel.
Special events
Towards the end of summer, the Salvator festival is held, a traditional German festival, for which a special strong Paulaner beer is brewed. There is a whole week of beer, music and feasting. Oktoberfest coincides with the annual Oktoberfest in Munich. Paulaner celebrates with Bavarian oompah bands, special brews and traditional meals.
Paulaner is open every day, including public holidays, from 11h00 until 24h00.
